The GB3 championship will feature three overseas rounds in 2024, with the Hungaroring added to the calendar for the first time.

The UK-based single-seater series will again visit Spa-Francorchamps and Zandvoort as part of its eight-round season, while Snetterton has been dropped from the schedule.

Oulton Park will host the opening round in its traditional Easter bank holiday slot, with the three overseas meetings being held consecutively in between two visits to Silverstone’s Grand Prix layout. The season finale will take place on Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix layout at the end of September.

“GB3’s calendar for 2024 is exceptionally strong, with five of the eight rounds taking place on contemporary Formula 1 circuits, including Hungary for the first time,” said Jonathan Palmer, chief executive of GB3’s promoter MotorSport Vision.

“The championship has a proven track record for producing stars in FIA Formula 3 and other categories, and I’m delighted our 2021 champion Zak O’Sullivan will make his FP1 debut in Abu Dhabi with Williams this weekend. The outstanding performance of last year’s champion Luke Browning and 2023 runner-up Alex Dunne at the Macau Grand Prix is yet more evidence of GB3’s quality.

“GB3 has become the compelling choice for young aspiring F1 drivers at this level of racing, and I expect very high demand for seats once again, following our record grids in 2023.”

Fellow MSV-run series GB4 has announced a seven-round calendar for 2024. It will share the support bill with GB3 for five of its events, with the other two rounds being held at Donington Park and Snetterton.
