Pierre Gasly took a commandeering maiden win at Moscow Raceway in race one of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, increasing his championship lead.
Gasly got off to a good start, keeping Oliver Rowland at bay on lap one. He managed to eventually build up a massive gap and was untroubled for the entire race, taking a massive lights-to-flag victory.
Rowland finished second, while Steijn Schothorst recorded his maiden podium finish in third. The Dutchman held off Lotus junior Esteban Ocon for the majority of the race, with the Frenchman forced to settle for fourth.
Prema duo of Luca Ghiotto and Bruno Bonifacio finished fifth and sixth, where they started, while Matthieu Vaxiviere managed to overtake Alex Albon for eighth. Fortec’s Mikko Pakari was ninth, while McLaren junior Nyck de Vries took the final point.
