Formula Regional Middle East and Formula 4 Middle East have both relocated their 2025 season finales from Jeddah to Losail.
There are 965 miles of desert between the two circuits, with Jeddah located on Saudi Arabia’s western coast while Losail is on the opposite side in bordering country Qatar, but it means a significantly shorter and easier trip for teams and their cargo.
Round four of the season for the two championships is on February 14-16 at Yas Marina Circuit, located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. That was 1148 miles away from Jeddah, whereas Losail is a 387-mile drive away. Competitors will also get an extra day to prepare for their final race week, since the finale is pushed back by a day from February 25-27 to 26-28.
Had the seasons concluded in Jeddah, FRME and F4 Middle East’s organiser Top Speed would have been responsible for the “logistical arrangements” of collectively taking the two grids’ cars and equipment across from Abu Dhabi. Teams would have then been responsible for transporting their own cargo away from Saudi Arabia following the week’s track action.
An updated logistics arrangement has not been published, and although Top Speed confirmed the relocation of the season finales it did not provide a reason for why it had occurred nor the timing of the switch. Much of the official documentation still lists Jeddah as a 2025 venue.
Losail hosted a Saudi Arabian F4 round and an F1 Academy race last year, but is yet to be visited by a FRegional championship.
