Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater took another dominant triumph in the second GB3 race of the weekend at Silverstone.
Slater again made use of pole position to lead the opening lap before the safety car was deployed. He controlled the restart at the beginning of lap three, and pulled out a huge nine-second advantage before a late incident caused the race to finish under safety car conditions.
JHR Developments’ Noah Lisle repeated his move from the start of race one by sweeping around the outside of Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic for second into Copse. He then prevailed in a three-wide battle with Ninovic and Hitech GP’s Nikita Johnson into Maggotts, with the latter climbing from fifth on the grid to third.
Ninovic tried to fight his way past Johnson once the track returned to green but ended up losing fourth to his team-mate Gianmarco Pradel into Stowe. Lisle fended off Johnson before the race was neutralised late on to score his second runner-up spot of the weekend, with Pradel and Ninovic following the pair home.
JHR’s Kai Daryanani passed Abbi Pulling on lap one, and then held off the Rodin driver to finish sixth despite receiving a warning for excessive weaving on the Wellington Straight while defending the position.
Xcel’s Patrick Heuzenroeder tried to capitalise on the duo’s squabble on the Hangar Straight, but couldn’t find a way by and came home close behind in eighth.
Argenti with Prema’s Lucas Fluxa climbed from 14th to ninth, having overtaken Xcel’s Dion Gowda early on. Gowda also lost out to Hitech GP’s Keanu Al Azhari, and the pair caused the late safety car period by colliding as they battled over 10th in Village, with Gowda’s car launched onto the rear of Al Azhari’s machine.
Hillspeed duo Kanato Le and Hiyu Yamakoshu repeated their scrap from Saturday’s contest, with Le coming out on top to finish 10th, and Argenti’s Reza Seewooruthun joined the battle after climbing from 17th to 12th.
Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough received dispensation to change his car overnight after a crack was discovered in his original chassis. He started the race from the back of the grid as a result, and made up ground to 15th by the finish.
Xcel’s Jack Sherwood and Elite Motorsport’s Will Macintyre were the final two finishers in 22nd and 23rd after stalling at the start and eventually rejoining from the pitlane.
