Douglas Motorsport has completed its three-car GB4 line-up with the signing of Formula Nordic runner-up Enzo Hallman.
The 17-year-old Swede started out competing in karts in his homeland, and won the Swedish Karting Championship’s Junior 125 class in 2021.
Hallman made his car racing debut in 2023 in the DTM-supporting NXT Gen Cup for electric touring cars, finishing fourth in the standings with six podiums, and he went one better with third overall in his second season last year, scoring a further nine podiums. He also made his single-seater debut in 2024 in the Formula Renault 1.6-based Formula Nordic, where he came runner-up with five wins, one pole and three fastest laps.
His achievements led to him winning this year’s prestigious Ronnie Peterson Memorial Foundation scholarship, which is handed out annually to promising young Swedish drivers.
“Stepping up to the GB4 Championship for my international single-seater debut really is a dream coming true for me,” said Hallman. “This is what I’ve been aiming for over the last six months or so, and to now finally make it happen is very, very exciting.
“This is going to be the biggest challenge of my career so far, with a new, proper downforce car, all new tracks, a new language and a new team behind me. Douglas Motorsport have given me such a warm welcome, however, and we’ve made good progress in the couple of tests we’ve done together.
“I feel at home with the team already and I really want to thank Wayne and Gemma for giving me this opportunity. Let’s see what we can do!”
Hallman is the 21st driver to confirm his place on the GB4 grid ahead of this weekend’s season-opener at Donington Park, where the new Tatuus MSV GB4-025 will make its series debut. With 28 of these cars – adapted from the outgoing GB3 model – in existence, there are seven more seats available.
“Enzo has proven that he’s an extremely talented young driver and we’re excited to be teaming him with Luke [Hilton] and Dayton [Coulthard] to complete our capacity line-up for our first GB4 season,” said Douglas Motorsport’s team principal Wayne Douglas. “Enzo’s pace and development in his test days with us so far has been very encouraging, and we hope he will be right in the mix as the year progresses and he gets more used to the car.”
