A documentary series called ‘F2: Chasing the Dream’ will be released on the online platform Formula 1 TV next year, documenting the 2019 Formula 2 season.

The first trailer for the documentary included a combination of television footage, new on-track shots, behind-the-scenes camerawork on race weekends and in drivers’ home environments, and sit-down one-to-one interviews with the grid in a studio setting.

Alex Jacques, the F2 and FIA Formula 3 Championship commentator, provides narration for the first release, as does Campos Racing’s Jack Aitken, who has frequently dovetailed his F2 driving duties with being Renault’s F1 test driver and a presenter on F1 TV.

The immediate reaction to and aftermath of the events at Spa-Francorchamps, which resulted in the loss of Arden driver Anthoine Hubert’s life and serious injuries to Sauber Junior Team by Charouz’s Juan Manuel Correa, are also included in the trailer – with additional insight from F2 CEO Bruno Michel.

The five-episode series, exclusive to F1 TV subscribers, will become available to watch shortly after the new year, with the trailer listing a ‘02.01.2020’ release date. F2 has also started its own podcast this year, also narrated by Jacques.

ART Grand Prix’s Nyck de Vries won this year’s F2 title before joining Mercedes-Benz’s Formula E team.

Nicholas Latifi, who will race for Williams in F1 next year, sealed the runner-up spot in the standings in the Abu Dhabi season finale, ahead of Virtuosi Racing’s Luca Ghiotto and his DAMS team-mate Sergio Sette Camara.
