Noel Leon, the 2023 Euroformula champion, will step up to Formula 2 next year with Campos Racing.
The 20-year-old Mexican will be team-mate to Nikola Tsolov, who was one of his rivals in FIA Formula 3 this season.
Leon’s title-winning Euroformula campaign was his first in third-tier single-seaters, and featured seven victories and five poles. Late in the year he moved across to F3 for the Macau Grand Prix, which he finished 19th in.
That was with Van Amersfoort Racing, who he did a full FIA F3 Championship campaign with in 2024 which resulted in four podiums and 10th place in the standings. He slipped down to 17th this year with Prema, and claimed two more podiums.
“It’s an honor to take this important step in my career and join Campos Racing in the F2 championship,” said Leon.
“I’m truly grateful for the team’s trust and for the support of my sponsors, whose commitment has made this dream possible. Campos is a team with great history and experience, and I’m fully committed to learning from them and giving my very best in this new chapter.”
The Nicolas Todt-led All Road Management firm managed Leon’s career from May 2024 to September 2025.
“We are proud to welcome a driver of Noel’s calibre to our F2 team for 2026,” Campos’s team principal Adrian Campos commented.
“His titles in junior single-seater categories speak for themselves, and I am convinced he has plenty to say in F2, even as a rookie. At Campos, we will provide him with all the tools necessary to ensure his adaptation to the category is as quick and effective as possible.”
Prior to Euroformula, Leon won the NACAM and United States Formula 4 championships then came 23rd in the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship.
