ART Grand Prix driver Christian Lundgaard was fastest on the second and final day of the first pre-season FIA Formula 3 test at Paul Ricard.
Renault junior Lundgaard posted a 1m48.786s in the morning session, nearly half a second quicker than Ferrari junior Marcus Armstrong’s Wednesday benchmark.
Armstrong’s strong testing form continued with the second-fastest time, just 0.014s adrift of Lundgaard’s best effort.
Leonardo Pulcini led the ex-GP3 drivers in third place ahead of another Ferrari junior Robert Shwartzman and Hitech’s Yifei Ye.
MP Motorsport’s Richard Verschoor was sixth fastest, with Formula Renault Eurocup champion Max Fewtrell and Toyota Racing Series champion Liam Lawson completing the top eight.
After losing most of Wednesday to engine issues, Jake Hughes enjoyed a more fruitful day for the new HWA team, setting the ninth fastest time ahead of Euroformula Open champion Felipe Drugovich.
Red Bull Honda backed-driver Yuki Tsunoda was fastest in the afternoon session for Jenzer, but his time was only good enough for 13th fastest overall.
Tsunoda caused one the five red flags, with stoppages for ART’s Lundgaard and David Beckmann, Campos’ Sebastian Fernandez and Verschoor also.
