Campos Racing will have five drivers in its three cars for the first two-day post-season FIA Formula 3 Championship test next week at Barcelona.

Matteo Nannini and Pierre-Louis Chovet, both experienced in the series, will be joined by Alessandro Famularo, William Alatalo and Rafael Villagomez. How their time in the cars will be allocated on October 5/6 is not clear.

Formula Regional European Championship graduate Nannini finished 18th in FIA F3 this season with Jenzer Motorsport, in what was just his second year in car racing.

The 17-year-old nephew of Formula 1 race-winner Alessandro Nannini scored points twice across the nine rounds, with a 10th place in the Saturday race at Barcelona meaning he had pole for the Sunday race, which he converted into a podium finish.

One place behind him in the standings was Van Amersfoort Racing’s FREC regular Pierre-Louis Chovet, who joined Hitech GP in FIA F3 for the Spa-Francorchamps and Monza rounds as a replacement of Renault junior Max Fewtrell, and took a best finish of sixth.

Famularo is team-mate to Chovet in FREC, and is eighth in the points despite missing the majority of the races held so far this year.

Alatalo races in the rival Formula Renault Eurocup with JD Motorsport, and is seventh in the standings with two podiums at the season’s halfway mark. He is also third in the rookie classification behind team-mate David Vidales, who has links to Campos, and Arden’s Alex Quinn.

Villagomez is the least experienced of the drivers lined up to join Campos for testing. The Mexican stepped up from karting at the start of this year to race in British Formula 4, but has missed rounds and not featured at the front so far.
