Rowan Campbell-Pilling has joined JHR Developments to contest a second season in British Formula 4, aiming to build on the podiums he scored as a rookie in 2024.
Campbell-Pilling raced for Argenti Motorsport in his maiden car racing campaign last year and already scored an outright podium in his third race at Brands Hatch after qualifying inside the top three.
There were further strong showings in qualifying later in the season at Knockhill and Donington Park, where on both occasions he was second only to the dominant Deagen Fairclough. At the latter circuit he took his second third-place finish of the year in the final race of the weekend.
He finished up 10th overall in the championship and was third in the rookie cup behind Martin Molnar and Yuanpu Cui.
JHR is a local team to Campbell-Pilling, based close to his home city of Sheffield, and he previously tested with the outfit ahead of his rookie season.
“It’s great to be back with JHR Developments,” he said. “We’ve had a few test days already, and we’ve shown some good speed, putting us in a strong position. I’ve worked hard over the winter to ensure we are in the best possible shape for this year.
“We’ll take things as they come, but I believe we have a strong package, as the team is highly competitive and had some brilliant results last year. I think it will be a great combination, and hopefully a winning one. I would also like to extend a massive thank you to all my partners who have helped me get on the grid this season. I can’t wait to get started.”
JHR finished third in the teams’ standings last year, with Leo Robinson notching up a trio of reversed-grid race wins at Silverstone, Knockhill and Brands Hatch and finishing sixth in the drivers’ points.
“We are really pleased to have Rowan joining us for the 2025 British F4 season,” said team principal Steven Hunter.
“He showed a lot of promise last year and has continued to work hard over the winter to develop his skills further. His performances in testing have been strong, and we are confident that he will be able to fight at the sharp end of the grid this season. We’re looking forward to working with him and seeing what we can achieve together.”
