Leandro Juncos has signed to race with Hillspeed in GB4 on the eve of the new season.

The son of Juncos Hollinger Racing IndyCar team owner Ricardo Juncos had been weighing up a GB3 drive with Chris Dittmann Racing but has now opted to race in GB4 instead.

He made his car racing debut last year in USF Juniors with DEForce Racing and came 19th in the standings, having competed in the first four rounds and scored a best result of fourth at Barber Motorsports Park. Out of the cockpit he has held various roles in his father’s team, including assistant engineer to both Agustin Canapino and Conor Daly.

The 19-year-old took part in last month’s pre-season GB3 test days at Snetterton and Donington Park with CDR, sporting a full Juncos team livery. He had his first taste of a GB4 car last week at Donington Park, which will host this weekend’s season-opening races.

Juncos will compete at Hillspeed alongside former Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 junior Daniel Guinchard, who is making a racing return this year after budget issues ended his 2023 British Formula 4 campaign prematurely.

“I’m incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to compete in the 2025 GB4 Championship with Hillspeed,” said Juncos. “This year is a fantastic opportunity for success as I feel the team and I have gelled very quickly following a positive test day at Donington – and with partnering alongside Dan as a team-mate, we are in a very strong position as a team to start the season.

“Competing on such iconic tracks around England in a highly competitive series presents an exciting challenge for me, as this year will be a steep learning curve for me as a driver in my first full season in racing.”

Karting graduate Nierin Evans will also be making his GB4 debut this weekend with Rossoverde Scorpio Racing. The 16-year-old has taken part in a number of test days over the winter ahead of his first car racing starts. Rossoverde Racing and Scorpio Motorsport have combined for a joint entry this season, having competed partially in GB4 as separate teams in the past.

“Having stepped up from two years karting with the Daniel Ricciardo Series, I am now very much looking forwards to the great challenge of my rookie season in single seaters,” said Evans.

“I’m delighted to have signed to Rossoverde Scorpio for the 2025 GB4 Championship – I tested for several teams earlier this year but it was their positivity and supportive attitude, coupled with their 75 combined years of motorsport success, that made it an easy decision to race with Rossoverde Scorpio. It’s an honour to take their first seat, and I’m sure I will learn a lot from their experience, starting this weekend at the iconic Donington Park circuit.”
