Mario Marasca will drive one of the BVM Racing cars in the main class of European F3 Open in 2013, according to ItaliaRacing.
Marasca, 18, made his full-time debut in single-seaters in 2010, when he joined PKF Racing in Formula Abarth. Failing to score and with a season best finish of 12th, he remained in the category, this time joining BVM. In his second year in Formula Abarth, Marasca scored a podium at Mugello on his way to 8th in the Italian category and 10th in the European category.
In 2012, Marasca made the move to Italian F3 with BVM and finished eighth in the standings, with a string of four podium finishes in a row to round up the championship (although he was later disqualified from the final race). He tested GP3 with Trident at the end of the year.
Newcomers to the F3 Open category since Italian F3 folded after last year, BVM are expected to announce another driver for the main class of the championship.
