Female racer Beitske Visser has joined the Red Bull Junior Team ahead of the 2013 season, the Austrian firm has revealed.

The 18-year-old from the Netherlands will continue in ADAC Formel Masters for a second season, racing alongside fellow Red Bull youngster Callan O’Keeffe at the Lotus team run by Motopark Academy.

After a successful karting career including the WSK Master Series KZ2 title in 2010, Visser made her car racing debut in ADAC Formel Masters with Lotus last year. She claimed a race win on just her second weekend, on home soil at Zandvoort, but an injury sustained in an accident earlier in the weekend kept her out of the following round. At round six at Lausitz she claimed a pole position, converting it into a second win.

Despite a second weekend missed due to injury, Visser finished the year eighth in the standings. She was due to join her teammate and series champion Marvin Kirchhofer in stepping up to German F3 for 2013, but will now remain in ADAC Formel Masters for a second season.

As well as South African O’Keeffe, who moves into ADAC Formel Masters from the Formula BMW Talent Cup, Visser joins F3 European Championship driver?Tom Blomqvist, GP3 pair Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz Jr and Formula Renault 3.5 ace Antonio Felix da Costa as a member of the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2013 season.

Triple world champion Sebastian Vettel and Toro Rosso duo Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne are all graduates of the scheme.
