Arjun Maini has been disqualified from the Formula 2 feature race at the Red Bull Ring on his series return after it was discovered that Campos Racing had incorrectly fitted his tyres.

The error was discovered when Maini, who finished the race in 15th place, pitted on lap 34 after starting the race on the soft compound tyres.

His rear tyres were found to have been fitted on the wrong sides prior to the race.

As a result, the stewards deemed his car to not be compliant with the sporting regulations,?he was disqualified and will start tomorrow’s sprint race from the back of the grid.

Rule 24.1 of the sporting regulations state that “tyres must be used on the side of the car for which they were allocated”.
