Championship Leader Antonio Fuoco took a dominant pole position in Imola, continuing the good form he showed in free practice to make it two consecutive pole starts for Prema Powerteam.
Behind in second is Koiranen GP?s Nyck de Vries who set the fastest lap of his group although almost 0.4 seconds slower than Fuoco. Lining up in third is Pierre Gasly with William Vermont in a very solid fourth place for ARTA.
Matthieu Vaxiviere ended in fifth and Bruno Bonifacio in sixth, not being able to repeat his great qualifying form from the previous round in Vallelunga.
Seventh was Joffrey De Narda and the last of the Prema Powerteam cars driven by Luca Ghioto was eighth. Ninth place was for Andrew Tang and completing the top ten was Egor Orudzhev.
