Formula Masters China series leader Afiq Ikhwan brought his win tally up to five with a race two victory at Ordos, closing out the round as race three wound up cancelled due to issues with the track.
Having set the fastest lap in race one, Ikhwan started race two on pole alongside Akash Nandy. While Ikhwan had no trouble at the front, leading the race lights-to-flag, both Nandy and Raj Bharath, who started the race in third, struggled, with the Indian losing three places on lap one and Nandy making a mistake that dropped him down to fifth on lap two.
The rest of the race was par for the course for the leading group. Ren Nagabuchi took second, narrowly edging out Formula Alps regular Tanart Sathienthirakul, with Aidan Wright rounding out the top four. Nandy and Bharath finished fifth and sixth respectively, with Matthew Solomon recording another seventh-place finish. Yuan Bo closed out the top eight.
In the standings, Ikhwan increased his lead over the Ordos round, sitting on top of the standings with 106 points. The fight for second is close, with Bharath at 83, Wright at 79, Nandy at 70 and Nagabuchi at 65.
