Christian Mansell will remain in Motopark’s line-up for the Euroformula season finale, despite the return of Jak Crawford to the team.
FIA Formula 3 committments for Crawford meant the American missed the most recent round at Monza, and Mansell took over his #52 car for that weekend. He nabbed a maiden podium in race one, and followed that up with a sixth and a fourth.
With Crawford coming back, Mansell has now moved across to the third of the Dallara 320s that has previously been driven by Vivien Keszthelyi, Roman Stanek and Reshad de Gerus this year.
“Going into the last round with Motopark at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will be really exciting for me, I’ve never been to the circuit and from the outside in the place looks mega,” said Mansell.
“Hopefully I can get some decent results to cap off the final Euroformula race of the year.”
The 16-year-old would be the team’s fourth winner in 2021 were he to stand on the top step at Barcelona this weekend, following championship leader Cameron Das, Crawford and Stanek who cameoed at Imola.
Mansell made his Euroformula debut at Spa-Francorchamps with Carlin, joining the grid to learn the circuit ahead of racing there with the team in GB3. While his allegiances changed in Euroformula, he stuck with Carlin for his primary racing programme in the United Kingdom and last weekend secured third in the GB3 standings at the Donington Park season finale.
He claimed two wins, one of which was at Spa, and three other podiums across the 24-race season.
