The Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship resumes after its summer break this weekend at Snetterton, as part of the support package for the British Touring Car Championship. Having won eight of the ten races so far this season it is second-year driver Alex Lynn (above) who leads the way, 58 points ahead of his nearest rival.
That man is Cypriot Tio Ellinas, who arrives at the Norfolk circuit off the back of a win in the Formula Renault 2.0 North European Cup at Oschersleben in Germany just last weekend, on his maiden appearance in the series, and up against the leading lights from the Eurocup.
Racing Steps Foundation-backed rookie Oliver Rowland lies third in the standings, still chasing his first win despite a number of podium finishes. He is just ahead of fellow karting graduate Jack Hawksworth, who switched to frontrunning squad Atech Reid ahead of the previous round at Croft and promptly scored his first win.
Jordan King returns fresh from a three-round adventure into the FIA Formula Two Championship, where he took four points finishes from six starts despite his relative lack of experience, with a best result of fifth at the Nurburgring. He will hope to add to his maiden Formula Renault podium scored last time out at Croft.
One man likely to contend for honours at Snetterton this weekend is Will Stevens. Formerly a development driver at both Honda Racing F1 and Brawn GP, he is racing in the Eurocup this year after two years in the UK series. He is making his second guest appearance of the year in the UK series with his regular squad Fortec Motorsport.
Elsewhere, the sixth round of the Formula 3 Euro Series takes place at the Nurburgring, with Marco Wittmann hoping for further success on home soil after two wins last time out at the Norisring. He is chasing down championship leader Roberto Merhi, who has an advantage of 31 points over his nearest rival Wittmann.

Nigel Melker lies third, just as he does in the GP3 Series standings. The Dutchman scored a podium in GP3 at the German circuit two weeks ago, and is looking for a fourth win of the year in F3.
The Italian F3 and Formula Abarth series are both in action at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend, supporting the International Superstars Series.
