Kevin Magnussen has stamped his authority coming into round two of World Series by Renault at Motorland Aragon, showing commandeering pace in the first practice session that saw him lead for the bigger part of the run and eventually come out with the quickest time.
Fellow title contenders Antonio Felix da Costa and Stoffel Vandoorne came closest to dethroning the Dane throughout the session, with the Portuguese driver eventually taking second ahead of the Fortec man. Draco’s Nico Muller showed strong pace in fourth, ahead of Sergey Sirotkin and Matias Laine.
Magnussen’s compatriot Marco Sorensen was seventh, while Pietro Fantin narrowly edged out Christopher Zanella for eighth. P1’s Will Stevens rounded out the top ten.
