Bamboo Engineering have officially signed Melville McKee for a 2013 GP3 campagn, adding him to the roster that already includes Carmen Jorda and a third unconfirmed driver.

The young Brit has been reasonably quick in pre-season testing for Bamboo and his signing comes as little surprise, with McKee set to have a busy season, having been confirmed?with AV Formula for the Eurocup FR2.0 opener a few days ago.

“It?s great to sign with Bamboo”, says McKee. “I’ve had a series of successful runs in the car and am particularly impressed with the team and their experience. The teams professionalism and breadth of experience are what attracted me most and I can’t wait to get on the track and compete.”

“It’s always nice to put pen to paper with a strong young driver”, added Chief Executive Richard Coleman. “Melville has shown a lot of promise in testing and we have high hopes for him this season.”

The 18-year-old Brit started his single-seater career in 2010, taking third in Formula Lista Junior. The following two years saw him race in Formula Renault, where he achieved multiple wins and podiums across the Eurocup, Alps and NEC categories.

Bamboo Engineering will be entering their first year in GP3, having taken over the spot that belonged to British squad Atech CRS.
