ADAC Formel Masters champion Marvin Kirchhofer enjoyed a phenomenal start to his 2013 German F3 campaign, taking pole position for race one at the opening round at Oschersleben.
After topping the timesheets in practice, Kirchhofer maintained his good form into the qualifying session, heading a Lotus 1-2-3 for race one. Experienced Russian driver Artem Markelov was a close second ahead of Emil Bernstorff.
Performance Racing also enjoyed a decent qualifying, neatly lining up behind the Lotus cars. John Bryant-Meisner marked his return to German F3 with fourth, ahead of teammates Yannick Mettler and Thomas Jager.
American Gustavo Menezes took seventh, with the EuroInternational cars of Aston Hare and Nabil Jeffri lining up behind him. Matteo Cairoli rounded out the top ten, while Sebastian Balthasar topped the Trophy class with twelfth overall.
