Johnathan Hoggard took a fourth BRDC British Formula 3 win of the season in the final Donington Park race.
The Fortec Motorsports driver undid some of the damage to his title ambitions of his race two retirement, pulling away up front to win by four seconds.
There was little overtaking in the race, with Douglas Motorsport’s Ulysse De Pauw and Hillspeed’s Sasakorn Chaimongkol establishing themselves in second and third early on.
Championship leader Clement Novalak did initially sneak into third after benefiting from his Carlin team-mate Kaylen Frederick taking to the pits, but it was only brief as Chaimongkol quickly got back ahead.
Chris Dittmann Racing was another team with split fortunes, as Nazim Azman finished fifth but title contending team-mate Ayrton Simmons had a problem that left him in the pits.
Kiern Jewiss couldn’t quite keep with the top five, and the Douglas Motorsport driver did come under pressure at the end of the race by Double R Racing’s Neil Verhagen.
His team-mate Hampus Ericsson beat Fortec’s Manuel Maldonado to eighth, with Benjamin Pedersen completing the top 10 for Douglas Motorsport after Kris Wright crashed on the penultimate lap.
