Sophomores Enzo Deligny and Yevan David will lead Van Amersfoort Racing’s FIA Formula 3 attack in 2027.

Deligny stays with the Dutch squad for his second season while David moves across from AIX Racing, which has since been acquired by the Lando Norris-backed LN4 Fusion operation.

After two years in Formula Regional with R-ace GP, finishing third in both the European championship and the Macau Grand Prix in 2025, Deligny had originally intended to contest the 2026 F3 season with Prema before jumping ship to join VAR before the season had started.

He impressed first time out with a podium on his debut in the Melbourne sprint race., rounding off a strong weekend with eighth in the feature race the following day. However, the rest of the season proved a disappointment for the Franco-Chinese pilot who dropped to 16th in the final standings after scoring points only five times once the teams returned from Australia.

Having re-signed with VAR, Deligny talked about the “strong relationship” that has developed, helping him to feel “immediately very comfortable” after joining the team.

“I’m really looking forward to starting next year together and showing what we can achieve. Having stability by staying with this great team will help me perform next year. I can’t wait,” he enthused. He’ll be looking to repeat the second-year development he showed in FREC, where his results improved significantly in his second season, as he eliminated some of his mistakes, allowing his undoubted speed to shine.

David moved up to FIA F3 from Euroformula Open for 2026, where he had finished runner-up in 2025 with six wins. As preparation for the move, he finished 10th in Formula Regional Oceania at the start of the year.

After a difficult start to the year in the underfinanced AIX team, with a best result of 19th in the first eight races, the  Sri Lankan impressed observers with his consistent pace in the second half of the season, running consistently in or just outside the top 10.

Like Deligny, he scored his only podium in a sprint race, in his case at Silverstone. However, his strongest weekend came at Monza where he finished fourth in both the sprint and feature races, after twice charging through the field from lowly grid spots.

David said that “stepping into VAR for the 2027 FIA F3 season feels like the right move at the right time. The leadership team has a clear vision, proven experience and a competitive mindset that matches how I want to operate.

“I’m excited to learn from them, contribute to that culture and test myself against the strongest field in junior single‑seaters. The challenge is big, but so is the opportunity. I’m ready to work, grow and deliver everything I can throughout the 2027 season”

Brad Joyce, VAR’s team principal, welcomed the signing of both drivers.

“[Enzo] made a very strong start to his FIA F3 career in Melbourne, finishing second in the Sprint Race on his debut weekend. He has now gained a full year of experience in the championship, and working with him throughout the season has given us the opportunity to see his talent up close. That experience and continuity are important as we look to build on what we started in 2026 and push for stronger results in 2027.”

David “showed great potential in his first FIA F3 season, with a strong second-place finish in the Silverstone Sprint Race,” Joyce added.

“Joining the VAR team will give him a new environment for his second year, and our aim is to turn that experience into great results. We’re looking forward to getting to know him and working with him during the post-season test. This will be a good opportunity to prepare for the 2027 season.”
