American team Velocity Racing Development will continue to race in GB3 next year, it announced today.
The Dan Mitchell-led outfit first raced in Formula Regional and Formula 4 on home soil, then in 2022 expanded into Britain by partnering with Arden in GB3.
For 2023 that collaboration expanded into cars being entered under the Arden VRD banner, then this season that changed to VAR by Arden as the American presence grew even more.
Next year VRD will have an independent presence in GB3 as it competes under its own name, and has placed orders for three of the new Tatuus MSV GB3-025 cars that will be used in the series.
“After a challenging season, we are focused on restructuring and preparing to return stronger than ever in 2025. Our goal is to compete for wins and championships right from the start,” said Mitchell.
“We’re thrilled to announce the impending delivery of the all-new GB3-025. While we continue to test our current car and analyse our performance in 2024, we are genuinely excited for a fresh start in 2025.
“It is an honour to be given this opportunity by GB3 and [series promoter] MotorSport Vision to compete in what I believe is the premier development formula for young drivers. Maintaining and strengthening our presence in the championship is vital for us as we establish ourselves further in Europe. The new car for 2025 is a serious piece of engineering, and the grid next year promises to be exceptional—we simply had to be part of it.
“We will continue to use GB3 as a platform to advance the careers of our most talented American racers. GB3 is the series to achieve that goal.”
