Esports star Lucas Blakeley will return to GB4 for the upcoming rounds at Snetterton and Silverstone next month.

The 22-year-old will race for KMR Sport, the team that ran him in GB4 and BRSCC National Formula Ford 1600 last year. He did two rounds of the Formula 4-spec GB4 in 2023, claiming a podium and two other top-five finishes to come 15th in the points table.

His National FF1600 campaign consisted of three rounds, and he claimed a win on Brands Hatch’s Indy layout en route to eighth place in the standings.

Blakeley will replace the title-challenging Brandon McCaughan in KMR’s line-up on his GB4 return. McCaughan explained that a lack of budget was the reason behind no longer being on the grid.

“Firstly, I’m hugely grateful to KMR Sport for the opportunity to return to GB4, I had a blast racing with them last season at Snetterton and Donington [Park], so I’m immensely grateful and exited to be racing again,” said Blakeley.

“My goals are pretty simple, I want to pick up from where I was and continue improving lap by lap, and to be as competitive as possible. I’ve got great memories from Snetterton last year, and to be racing around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit will be a dream come true. I truly can’t wait to get started.”

KMR team principal Kevin Mills added: “We’re really pleased to welcome Lucas back to the team for the next two rounds at Snetterton and Silverstone. Based on his performances last year we know he’ll be competitive, and he should be in the mix in the top half of the grid again, especially as his seat time builds. It was a pleasure to see him on the podium last year, hopefully the opportunity presents itself to exceed that over the next two rounds.”
