MP Motorsport has signed another highly rated karter to its Spanish Formula 4 squad for 2024 in the form of Maciej Gladysz.
The Polish driver was part of the Sauber karting team in 2021 through sponsor Orlen, when he also won the FIA Karting Academy Trophy. The following year, driving for Ricky Flynn Motorsport on its Lando Norris OK Junior kart, he won the Champions of the Future Winter Series, came second in the WSK Euro Series and placed fourth in the World Championship.
He stepped up to the senior OK class with RFM this year and came 20th in the European Championship.
“I’m thrilled to have joined MP Motorsport for my first season out of karts,” said Gladysz. “They are a crack squad in single-seaters that have won at every level they have competed in.
“The highly competitive Spanish F4 Championship is the perfect place for me to start my journey on the road to Formula 1, especially considering MP’s strong form in Spain over the years. I’m really looking forward to working with the guys to create that strong bond between team and driver, and continue MP’s winning streak in the championship.”
MP’s announcement of Gladysz for Spanish F4 follows that of his former karting rival Rene Lammers on Wednesday.
“It’s exciting news to be able to announce Maciej so soon into the winter break,” said MP team principal Sander Dorsman. “Having a young driver of his calibre on board for our 2024 Spanish F4 campaign has all of us buzzing with confidence as we work towards the new season.
“Maciej has been absolutely outstanding in karts, and now it’s up to us to translate his prodigious talent into strong results in single-seaters. With the bright head on his shoulders that he has, I am certain that we will be able to set some ambitious targets for the coming year.”
