Esteban Masson, the 2021 French Formula 4 champion, will race for Campos Racing in the inaugural Eurocup-3 season.
The 18-year-old won six races in his title-winning F4 campaign, and spent last year racing in the Formula Regional European Championship. He did six rounds with the MP Motorsport-run FA Racing team and scored one point, then completed the 10-round season with ART Grand Prix.
Masson is Campos’s fourth signing for Eurocup-3, which will use the same FRegional chassis from Tatuus as FREC does as the underpinnings for its faster car, alongside Francesco Braschi, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and Suleiman Zanfari.
“I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be racing with Campos Racing in the new Eurocup-3 championship,” said Masson.
“I’m really grateful to be joining such an experienced, successful and ambitious team as Campos for this 2023 season. I would like to thank Adrian Campos Jr and Andreu Romera for their trust without who it would not be possible. So really looking forward to start the season.”
Adrian Campos Jr, the team principal, added: “We are pleased wtih Esteban joining our driver line-up in the Eurocup-3 championship. He won the highly-competitive [French] F4 championship.
“Our goal is to help him as much as possible to translate his talent into brilliant results. Just like his team-mates, Esteban is another young gun who hopefully will bring us plenty of excitement and success this season.”
Masson is the eighth driver to sign up for Eurocup-3, which will have one official pre-season test before racing begins at Spa-Francorchamps in May. Two of the teams involved in the series are yet to announce any drivers.
