USF2000 regular Lucas Kohl has bypassed racing in Indy Pro 2000 to head straight to Indy Lights with Belardi Auto Racing.
The 20-year-old Brazilian has spent the last three seasons in USF2000, culminating in a third place finish in the standings last year with four podiums.
?I know that as a rookie it is going to be challenging, but with the experience that Belardi Auto Racing has I feel that they can help me to learn as much as possible as fast as possible,” said Kohl.
He made his Indy Lights testing debut last September with BAR, where he impressed team owner Brian Belardi.
?We are very excited that Lucas has joined Belardi Auto Racing,” Belardi said.
“He is a very bright young man and has a great future in racing. The team and I are very pleased to have Lucas and can?t wait to see him shine this year.?
Kohl joins Lights returnee Zachary Claman DeMelo at the team, who switches back to the championship after a part-season in IndyCar. BAR finished second in the teams’ standings last year, and won the 2017 title.
