Ugo Ugochukwu will switch from Prema to Campos Racing for his sophomore season in the FIA Formula 3 Championship next year.

The 18-year-old American came 16th in the standings as a rookie, with second place finishes in the Spa-Francorchamps and Hungaroring sprint races the highlights of his campaign.

He had one weekend of F3 experience prior to that, having raced for Trident in the 2023 Macau Grand Prix where he qualified ninth and finished 15th.

“I’m really excited to be joining Campos Racing for the 2026 FIA F3 season,” said Ugochukwu.

“It will be my second year in the category, so I’ll bring more experience with me. The team comes from winning the teams’ title last season, so I know I’ll be in a very strong environment. I’m confident that together we can achieve great results in the upcoming season.”

McLaren Formula 1 junior Ugochukwu won the E4 championship, was Italian Formula 4 runner-up and third in British F4 and F4 United Arab Emirates while he was racing in entry-level single-seaters, then last year he raced in Formula Regional.

He came seventh in the Middle East championship, 11th in the European championship and won the FIA FRegional World Cup-awarding Macau GP. A part-time campaign in GB3 resulted in three podiums and 13th in the standings.

At the start of this year he came third in FRegional Middle East before the start of his rookie F3 season.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ugo on board for next season,”said Campos team principal Adrian Campos.

“Alongside Theophile [Nael] and Ernesto [Rivera], we have been able to build a very strong line-up. Despite his young age, Ugo already brings valuable experience and an impressive record both in karting and single-seaters, which speaks volumes about his capabilities for the future. We are eager to start this new chapter together and see what we can achieve.”
