Tymek Kucharczyk leaves Douglas Motorsport for Hitech GP in GB3

Hitech GP has added Polish youngster Tymek Kucharczyk to its GB3 line-up for 2024.

The 17-year-old joins the team from Douglas Motorsport, with whom he took two podiums, two fastest laps and seventh in the standings with in GB3 last year as a rookie.

He is Hitech’s third signing, alongside fellow series sophomore Gerrard Xie and British Formula 4 runner-up William Macintyre.

“I am excited to be racing with Hitech this season, a leading team and front-runner in the GB3 championship. The opportunity to race for such a prestigious team is a huge motivation for me,” said Kucharczyk.

“I gained valuable experience last season and I hope it will help me fight for the championship title in 2024. I want to thank Hitech for their trust and I am looking forward to a competitive year ahead.”

Hitech’s GB3 team manager Phil Blow added: “Tymek impressed in the GB3 championship last season, finishing [fifth] overall on debut. With his experience in the series, we are delighted for him to complete our line-up for 2024 and are confident that we will have a very competitive year together.”

Kucharczyk was third in Spanish F4 in 2022 as a single-seater rookie, taking one win and 12 podiums for MP Motorsport, having earned the drive by winning the Richard Mille Young Talent Academy shootout.

Prior to that he spent several years in junior karting and in 2021 stepped up to senior karting, finishing second in WSK’s Open Cup, third in the Euro Series, sixth in the Super Master Series and 14th in the Champions Cup. He was also 24th in that year’s CIK-FIA European championship.
