Nikola Tsolov will return to ART Grand Prix’s Formula 3 line-up for the second post-season test at Barcelona this week.
Tsolov, a member of the Alpine Academy and Fernando Alonso’s A14 Management roster, was absent from last week’s first test at Jerez.
However, he will take the place of Ollie Gray at ART for Barcelona, alongside Laurens van Hoepen and Christian Mansell.
After winning the Spanish Formula 4 title in his first year out of karts in 2022, Tsolov stepped up to F3 with ART this year.
He finished 22nd in the championship with just six points, a seventh place in the Spa-Francorchamps sprint race his best result. He did however show progress by qualifying inside the top 10 at each of the final three rounds, including fourth at Spa.
Since the F3 season finished, Tsolov took part in the Eurocup-3 round at Estoril with the GRS team, taking pole and finishing second in both races.
The only other change to the entry list for the second test will come into effect on Wednesday’s second day, when Nikhil Bohra will take over from Callum Voisin at Carlin.
Bohra has been racing in the Formula Regional European Championship this year with Trident. He scored a podium at the opening round at Imola and is currently 12th in the standings.
Voisin will be taking part in the penultimate round of the GB3 championship – where he leads the points – at Zandvoort later this week, where FREC will also be racing.
Carlin’s Red Bull-linked Formula 2 racer Zane Maloney will continue to drive for the F3 squad at Barcelona, along with Formula 4 star Ugo Ugochukwu.
