Thomas Ingram Hill and Henry Mercier will both be making their Formula 4 debuts in Great Britain this year, but in different championships.

Fortec Motorsports has signed the 15-year-old Ingram Hill for GB4, and the Briton steps up from Ginetta Junior.

In 2023 he contested one round of the entry-level sportscar series, then last year he did the full season and came 11th in the standings with three eighth places his best finishes.r

“I am excited to be joining Fortec Motorsports,” said Ingram Hill. “After a learning year in Ginettas, I am happy to be able to make my single-seater debut in the GB4 championship and looking forward to working with the team to make progress throughout the year and work towards achieving my goals.”

Fortec’s team principal Ollie Dutton added: “[Thomas] has been putting in plenty of effort since he began car racing and has learned a lot already, so we are excited to begin working together to help him achieve his goals. It will be something different, compared to what he has been racing, but we have no doubt he will be ready to hit the ground running at the season opener.”

Mercier meanwhile joins Argenti Motorsport in British F4, and the 16-year-old American is a newcomer to cars as he graduates from two years spent karting in Europe.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Argenti for the 2025 British F4 season,” he said. “I have complete trust in the team and Michael to provide me with the best possible support and opportunities next year.

“Transitioning from karting to F4 is a big step, but I’m ready and excited to embrace the challenge.”

Last month he signed with the Phil Glew-led EDGE Sporting Management, which looks after the careers of several other junior single-seater drivers including FIA Formula 3 racer Callum Voisin.
