Ivan Taranov completed his dominance in the final Protyre Formula Renault round of the season, taking victory in race two at Silverstone.
The first five laps saw five drivers exit the race, including the series’ ruling champion Chris Middlehurst, who retired on lap one due to vehicle damage.
Taranov, who took over in first amidst mayhem over the opening laps, found himself having to defend the lead from Fortec driver Sam MacLeod, also chasing his second victory of the year. However, the Russian was able to narrowly keep the Fortec man back, taking the checkered flag half a second earlier.
Hong Wei Cao completed a promising second half of the season with another podium finish in third. Telmex-backed Jorge Cevallos finished fourth, closely followed by Wei Fung Thong,?who passed Pietro Fittipaldi for fifth in the closing stages.
Ashley Crossey emerged as the best debutant of the race with a seventh-place finish, as Shahan Sarkissian, Alex Gill and Atte Lehtonen completed the top ten.
