According to motorsport-magazin.com, German youngster Sven Muller will continue racing in the European F3 category in 2013, joining Andre Rudersdorf at ma-con Motorsport after he was left without a seat at his former team, Prema.
Muller, 21, made his debut in single-seater racing in the ADAC Formel Masters series in 2010 with Eifelland Racing. With a best finish of fifth at Lausitzring, he finished ninth in the overall standings. In 2011, he continued in the series, switching to ma-con and finishing third in the standings, finishing close behind champion Pascal Wehrlein and Emil Bernstorff.
Just like the two of them, Muller made the switch to the F3 Euro Series in 2012, joining Prema Powerteam, and took his first podium in the series five races in at Brands Hatch. At Zandvoort, he secured a double pole for the feature races, but failed to convert either of them into a win – however, he achieved his first victory in the series during the last round at Hockenheim, finishing the season in sixth place.
Muller was expected to continue with Prema for 2013, but was not re-signed by the team.
In the 2012 F3 Euro Series, ma-con finished the season in fourth in the teams’ standings, running Bernstorff and Tom Blomqvist. The duo scored three podiums over the season, with Blomqvist finishing seventh and Bernstorff ending the season in tenth.
