Roman Stanek will remain at Trident for his second season in Formula 2.

It will be the 19-year-old Czech’s third year with the Italian team, having first joined them for a FIA Formula 3 Championship campaign in 2022 where he came fifth in the standings with one win, three second places and a pole position.

In his rookie F2 season last year he scored 15 points, putting him 18th in the standings. His best finish was a fifth place at the Red Bull Ring. A week before the season finale he was part of Trident’s line-up for the FIA F3 World Cup-awarding Macau Grand Prix, which he finished 12th in.

“I’m really happy to continue my journey with the Trident team. We have developed a great relationship over the past years and I see great potential here for this year. I can’t wait for what the new season will bring,” said Stanek. “The aim will be to run at the front.”

He will be team-mate to fourth-year F2 driver Richard Verschoor, who reunites with Trident after racing for them in 2022.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Roman Stanek, who has been part of our family for a long time and was able to provide winning results in the past,” said Trident’s team manager Giacomo Ricci.

“We are certain that all the ingredients are there to do well and achieve increasingly ambitious goals together. The experience acquired in 2023 will prove pivotal to start the new season with the best conditions and maximum determination.”
