Venezuelan driver Robert La Rocca?has returned to the F3 Open after a partial campaign last year.

In 2012, La Rocca won the American F2000 Championship with an absolutely dominant performance, winning 11 races from 14. He also made his first appearances in F3 Open, where he finished tenth overall. He was announced as a driver for the new Bamboo Engineering GP3 squad last month.

“I am very happy to be back at Team West-Tec as I know the team is very strong,” said La Rocca. “Last year was a learning campaign, alongside my American racing, but this year I want to win, although I know there will be a lot of competition. The calendar for this year is again very strong, and a big part of why the series is so popular.”

West-Tec’s John Miller said: ?Roberto made a lot of progress last year and we are confident he is going to be a real factor in 2013, so we are delighted to welcome him back. I am absolutely sure this is going to be an exciting year. After claiming two wins in the F3 Open Winter Series, I am sure we are well placed to have a great year in 2013.?

The 21-year-old driver is the seventh member of Team West-Tec for 2013, alongside Ed Jones and Nelson Mason, the two race winners of the F3 Open Winter Series, plus Luca Orlandi, Cameron Twynham, Sean Walkinshaw and Liam Venter.
