The Red Bull Junior Team has announced the signing of FIA Formula 3 star Pepe Marti ahead of this weekend’s season finale at Monza.

Marti has been spotted more than once having meetings with Red Bull this season, including in the Monza paddock today by Formula Scout’s own reporter.

He is currently third in the F3 standings with three wins, a third place and two pole positions, and with a perfect score this weekend (which would include two wins, two fastest laps and pole) he could become champion as long as points leader Gabriel Bortoleto does not score and Paul Aron scores no more than one point.

“Welcome to the team, Pepe,” the RBJT announced via Instagram this evening. “Pepe is joining the RBJT and is set to showcase his new helmet during the F3 season finale this weekend in Monza.”

The updated helmet maintains elements of his usual Fernando Alonso-inspired design as well as Red Bull colours and logos.

“Super happy and proud to be joining the Red Bull Racing [and] RBJT family,” commented Marti, who is a protege of Alonso through his A14 Management firm. Alonso is currently Red Bull’s closest rival on the Formula 1 grid.

Marti is only in his third year of single-seater racing, having come third in Spanish Formula 4 in 2021, second in the Formula Regional Asian Championship last year and then seventh in FRegional Middle East this year before starting his breakthrough FIA F3 campaign.

Drivers who have already congratulated Marti on his RBJT signing include IndyCar champion Alex Palou and International GT Open champion Albert Costa.
