Prema has added a third driver to its 2025 Formula Regional European Championship line-up, with Rashid Al Dhaheri stepping up from its Formula 4 squad.
The 16-year-old Emirati had exclusively raced for Prema in his single-seater career until last weekend, when he joined PHM Racing to make his FRegional debut at the Macau Grand Prix and finished sixth on-the-road before being disqualified over technical violations.
As a car racing rookie last year he did full campaigns in Euro 4 and Italian F4, two F4 South East Asia events and the one-off F4 United Arab Emirates Trophy. Two fourth places were his best results in Europe, and in Asia he got a win and a third place in F4 SEA (the latter result coming in a non-championship race in Macau) and made the podium on home soil too.
Al Dhaheri kicked off 2024 in his home F4 championship, and two victories, three other podiums and a pole helped put him fourth in the standings. He took a podium apiece in Italian F4 and Euro 4, coming 10th and 11th in their points tables.
“I’m very happy to be continuing with Prema. It has been a great and enjoyable season in F4. I was able to build a lot on myself and grow quite a bit,” said Al Dhaheri. “Happy to be joining the team in FREC and I can’t wait to get back on track.”
Al Dhaheri’s team-mates will be F4 UAE and Italian F4 champion Freddie Slater, and Italian F4 runner-up Jack Beeton.
