Alex Powell made it an R-ace GP one-two in the 2025 Formula 4 Middle East standings by winning the season-ending race at Losail.
It was a lights-to-flag victory, his fifth of the season, and title-winning team-mate Emanuele Olivieri was second almost the whole way through.
He started in third behind Yas Heat Academy’s Adam Al Azhari, who was passed by both he and Mumbai Falcons’ Kean Nakamura Berta on the opening lap.
Olivieri escaped the pair behind, and Nakamura soon did not have to worry about Al Azhari – who had mechanical problems earlier in the weekend – dropped further down the order.
His team-mate August Raber inherited fourth on lap four, ahead of Akcel GP by PHM Racing’s Reno Francot and Mumbai Falcons’ Tomass Stolcermanis.
Francot had started in eight, but was on a charge and he made it onto the podium in the race’s second half. On lap 10 of 16 he took fifth from Raber, he got past Nakamura two laps later and then pulled away. It was too late to have any hopes of catching the top two, and he finished 7.8 seconds behind Powell.
Nakamura’s hopes of holding on to second in the points standings were already over when Raber demoted him to fifth on-track. The result also lifted Raber one spot to eighth in the standings ahead of Al Azhari.
The battle for eighth was decided in a close manner, but there was no change in position as Mumbai Falcons’ Tomass Stolcermanis kept Prema’s Newman Chi behind him for 13 laps.
