After winning the qualifying, Nelson Mason won the first F3 Open race at Circuito de Jerez in dominant fashion.
After a great start, the 25-year-old rookie wasn’t challenged by anyone, and easily took the victory. Just like in the qualifying, Mason’s biggest rival was his teammate Ed Jones, who finished six seconds behind the winner. Santiago Urrutia celebrated his third podium finish this year as he had overtook Stuvik for third at the closing stages of the race.
Alexandre Cougnaud can also be happy with his best result in F3 Open so far, as he took advantage of a mistake from Sandy Stuvik. Stuvik recorded his worst result as he finished fifth. Hector Hurst, local driver Alex Toril, Andr?s Saravia, Mario Marasca and Yarin Stern completed the top ten.
Richard Gonda won the Copa class dominantly, as second Cameron Twynham and third Sean Walkinshaw finished the race fourteen and sixteen seconds respectively behind the Slovakian.
