Noah Stromsted will remain with the Trident FIA Formula 3 squad for a second season, completing the team’s line-up for 2026.

The 18-year-old from Denmark joined the Mercedes Formula 1 team’s junior programme as he stepped up to F3 this year. He placed sixth in the standings, making him the second highest-placed rookie after his team-mate and outright champion Rafael Camara.

Stromsted finished second in the season-opening feature race in Melbourne and again in Imola’s main race, and also won the sprint race at Spa-Francorchamps.

“I am very happy to continue with Trident Motorsport in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship,” said Stromsted. “After completing my first full year with the Italian team, I look forward to building on this experience together, starting with the upcoming category collective test scheduled in Jerez.

“Our goal will be to fight for wins and ultimately the championship throughout the year. the knowledge I have from this year is going the be very important so we will work hard over the winter to build on that and be ready for 2026.”

Stromsted started his single-seater career when he turned 14 in 2021 and won nine times from 11 starts in Danish Formula 4 that year. He debuted in Spanish F4 after turning 15 midway through the following year and finished seventh after a full season with Campos Racing in 2023. He went on to finish sixth in a single season in Formula Regional European Championship with Race Performance Motorsport last year.

He will be joined in the Trident F3 team next year by the current top two in FREC, Freddie Slater and Matteo De Palo.

Team manager Giacomo Ricci said Stromsted “showed impressive speed, even if the results were occasionally inconsistent” in 2025.

“We are confident that, by spending another year with the same team, Noah can become one of the standout drivers of the 2026 season,” he added. “He is an extremely dedicated young driver, and with more experience, he will certainly feel more comfortable, both with the team and within the championship format.”
