Gerardo Nieto and Nicolas Pohler will continue their F3 Open campaigns with DAV Racing after racing in the Winter Series.

The 18-year-old Mexican Nieto spent his first four years of his single-seater career in Latam Challenge Series where he collected eight wins and six pole positions. In 2012, he raced in Formula Panam GP Series, finishing in third place at the end of the season.

Nieto has already made his first appearance in Europe a couple of weeks ago, with DAV Racing. He took part in the second round of F3 Open Winter Series where he finished 13th.

German driver Pohler, 17, steps up after a single season in ADAC Formel Masters in 2012 where he ended up 18th in the standings.

He contested both F3 Open Winter Series rounds, finishing 16th at Paul Ricard and failing to finish at Jerez.

“I feel happy after the agreement with Nieto and Pohler,” said team manager Felice Davenia. “I think that Gerardo has a very good potential and, teaming with Pohler, they?re a young driver line-up with very good chances to shine.”

Both drivers will race older F308 models in the Copa class.
