Myles Rowe tops Indy Nxt’s post-season Chris Griffis test at IMS

Abel Motorsports’ Myles Rowe set the pace in Indy Nxt’s post-season Chris Griffis Memorial Test on Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s road course on Friday.

The day was split into a morning and an afternoon session, and all 22 drivers who took part set their personal best laptimes in session two. In total, 1572 laps were set by the field.

Formula 2 star Dennis Hauger, driving for Andretti Global, was quickest in the morning session with a 1m15.6896s lap and then second to Rowe in the afternoon. They were split by 0.1437 seconds at the top of the overall timesheet, with Andretti’s Lochie Hughes only 0.0451s further behind in third place are completing 54 laps, less than anyone else.

“Taking it step by step,” Rowe said after going fastest. “I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. We’re on the right path. We’re getting somewhere.”

Abel’s Callum Hedge was just over a quarter of a second off the pace in fourth, and the HMD trio of Liam Sceats, Caio Collet and Bryce Aron were all within half a second of Rowe.

The top 16 were covered by less than a second, and in 14th place was the very late addition of Jace Denmark at Andretti Cape. He only found out he would be driving the morning before the test, and was impressively only 0.8485s off the pace.

Stock car racing star Hailie Deegan, who is yet to race in single-seaters but has signed with HMD for 2025, propped up the timesheet and part-time sportscar racer Alexander Koreiba was 19th fastest for Juncos Hollinger Racing.
