Tom Mills continued his strong form from pre-event testing by securing a double pole in GB4 qualifying on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

The Kevin Mills Racing driver lapped 0.106 seconds faster than Fortec Motorsports’ Colin Queen in the 15-minute session, with Liam McNeilly third for Fox Motorsport.

It didn’t take long for Mills to set the pace, dispatching Cooper Webster from top spot on his third lap with a 1m00.847s, with McNeilly and Ruhaan Alva moving into second and third.

Queen moved to within 0.034s of Mills, who then slightly extended his advantage with a 1m00.775s lap. Laptimes stagnated in the session’s second half, though Mills improved on his second-best effort to make sure of both race one and two poles.

Webster finished qualifying 0.7s off the pace in fourth ahead of fellow Australian Jack Clifford. Fortec duo Alva and Aditya Kulkarni were sixth and seventh ahead of Harry Burgoyne Jr and VRD’s debutant Zack Ping. The top-nine starting order will be the same for both races one and two.
