Miller Vinatieri Motorsports has tied up with Abel Motorsports to support Jack William Miller’s sophomore season in Indy Nxt this year.

The two family teams will co-run the 21-year-old’s car in 2025, as he looks to improve on the two 10th place finishes from last year which were the highlights of a campaign in which he was the lowest-placed full-time driver in the standings.

This will technically mark the end of Miller racing exclusively for the MVM team of his father Dr Jack Miller, a dentist who raced in IndyCar from 1997 to 2001. They started off in United States Formula 4, where he took one fifth place from two seasons, then he claimed two podiums from two USF2000 campaigns. The next step was USF Pro 2000, and across three years he qualified on pole three times and collected four podiums. He twice came ninth in the standings.

Miller raced with team-mates until he reached USFP2000, so has also spent the last four years in a one-car team. When asked about the challenges of that going into 2025 at a recent media day for Indy Nxt, he said he was unable to touch the topic.

“I’m pumped to be joining Abel Motorsports with MVM,” said Miller. “Coming up through the ranks I haven’t really had a team-mate, it’s mainly been me which can be awesome but does have its challenges. This year having Myles [Rowe], Callum [Hedge], Jordan [Missig], and the entire Abel Motorsports group around me, and additional data points to look at will be huge. This team has proven it has what it takes to win at this level, so to be a part of the team and have this chance in front of me is really something special.”

The team is run by Bill Abel, whose son Jacob raced for it up to the end of last year. He was Indy Nxt runner-up in 2024, and is now stepping up to IndyCar.

“I think this partnership will be a great thing for both sides,” Abel Senior said of the tie-up with MVM. “We always pay pretty close attention to the drivers and teams we are competing against, so we’ve known Jack William Miller and Jack Miller for quite a while now, and to have the opportunity to do something together is just awesome.”
