Mika Abrahams will make the switch to Hitech GP for his second season in the British Formula 4 championship this year.
The 15-year-old joined the British F4 grid partway through the 2023, joining Fortec for his debut in the championship. He competed in seven of the 10 rounds, taking points finishes in eight races and a double pole position and podium at Donington Park.
Abrahams is optimistic about the upcoming season, when he joins Deagan Fairclough and Reza Seewooruthun at Hitech.
“I’m really proud to be driving for a world class team like Hitech. I’m grateful for the opportunity they have given me,” he said.
“The whole team has been so welcoming and I’m ready to get to work on my second season in British F4 with this great team behind me.”
Abrahams joined the British F4 field after a season competing in the Danish championship in 2022. There, he took nine podiums despite having to miss the opening round as he was too young to compete.
His age again forced him to miss the opening rounds of the British championship, but this year he will be able to compete in the full 10 rounds.
Hitech’s F4 Team Manager Dominic Stott said: “We are delighted to have Mika join us for 2024. After some impressive performances last season, we are confident he will be a front-runner this year.
“After narrowly missing out on the drivers’ and teams’ championships in 2023, signing Mika is another sign of our intentions going into the new season.
“While he will still be 15 when the season starts and one of the youngest on the grid, he has plenty of experience and has been working hard in the off season to be best prepared for the challenge ahead.”
Hitech is expected to add one more driver to its British F4 line-up before the start of the season at Donington Park in April.
