Mercedes junior Paul Aron joins ART Grand Prix’s Eurocup line-up

ART Grand Prix has added Mercedes-Benz Formula 1 junior Paul Aron to it line-up for its Formula Renault Eurocup return.

The French team is rejoining the championship, now run to regional Formula 3 rules, after a 16-year absence in which it came to be a title-winner in multiple other categories.

Aron is the younger brother of FIA European F3 race-winner Ralf, who acted as Prema’s Formula Regional European Championship team boss last year while Paul raced for the squad in ADAC and Italian Formula 4.

?I am very proud to be working together with ART Grand Prix in the 2020 Formula Renault Eurocup,” said Aron.

“This is a stepping stone to success and I am sure I can improve myself together with them.

“In the past, many drivers who were a part of this team went on to greatness and I am looking forward to doing the same thing myself.

“I had a successful first year in single-seaters and I am sure that with ART we can have a second successful year in formula racing.

In both F4 championships Aron won two races, with his Italian campaign also including the rookie title and third in the overall standings.

“It is an honor to be part of this legendary and historical team and I am very much looking forward to the upcoming season?.

Aron, who was the European champion in OK Junior karts before his single-seater switch, will be team-mate to Toyota Racing Series frontrunner and ADAC F4 rival Gregoire Saucy at ART.

?Paul is an example of the modern driver, whose talent was expressed very early with a dazzling start to his career,” ART president Sebastien Philippe added.

“He had a great first season in F4 and is taking another step this year. He is 16, he is very young and his objective, like ours, will be to exploit his potential without burning his wings, to progress throughout the year to finish the season in the top places of a championship that is so full of rising talent?.
