KMR Sport’s Lucas Blakeley began his GB4 return with a maiden victory in the opening race of the weekend at Snetterton.

The Esports star drew alongside Elite Motorsport’s polesitter Alisha Palmowski at the start before snatching the lead on the outside into Riches. He pulled 1.3 seconds clear on the opening lap, and dominated the remainder of 10-lap contest to finish 2.9s ahead of Palmowski.

It’s Blakeley’s second single-seater triumph, having took a win in United Formula Ford with KMR at Silverstone last year.

Harry Burgoyne Jr tried to follow his team-mate past Palmowski on lap one, but then found himself under pressure from Fortec Motorsports’ points leader Linus Granfors. Palmowski eventually edged clear to finish three seconds ahead of Burgoyne, who built a similar gap to Granfors by the finish.

Elite’s Finn Harrison took a lonely fifth after gaining one place at the start, with Fox Motorsport’s Branden Templeton sixth. Graham Brunton Racing’s Callum Baxter made a poor getaway and dropped three places to eighth. He then became embroiled in a feisty three-way scrap with Arden’s Leon Wilson and KMR’s Chloe Grant.

A determined defence from Wilson was finally ended when Baxter muscled his way past at Brundle. Having also swept by Wilson, Grant was then rearended by her rival and lost her rear wing before retiring. Wilson came home eighth behind Baxter, with Fortec duo Dan Hickey and Jack Taylor rounding out the top 10.
