Karter Bart Harrison will make the switch to car racing next year as he joins Chris Dittmann Racing in the British Formula 4 championship.
The 16-year-old has tested with several F4 teams through 2023 to prepare himself, having spent the past two years racing on X30 Senior karts and on X30 Junior karts in the two years before that.
Highlights of his junior karting career including winning the IAME Winter Cup (2020 & ’21), coming second in the British Karting Championship, fourth in the IAME Euro Series, fifth in the IAME Warriors Final and 33rd in the IAME I-Games. He was also selected to race in the FIA’s Karting Academy Trophy in 2021, which he finished eighth in.
On X30 Senior karts he was British championship runner-up, fourth in the IAME Winter Cup and 14th in the IAME Euro Series.
“Taking this step up into single-seaters is a massive change, so it’s going to take some time to adapt to that, but I’m really excited. I hope that together with Chris Dittmann Racing, we can have a really successful year,” said Harrison.
We made a lot of progress during the test days I did with the team earlier this year. I enjoyed every moment of it, which is very important. I progressed the most within myself and on the timing screens when I was with CDR, so I knew they were going to be the right fit for me going into the British F4 championship.
Stepping into the car for the first time, it was a huge change from what I’m used to. It took about five days for me to start feeling more in control of the car. We’ll see how the first round at Donington Park goes, but I’m feeling confident.”
