JHR Developments signs Carter Williams for BRDC British F3 entry

by Ida Wood

JHR Developments will make its long awaited BRDC British Formula 3 debut this year after signing American racer Carter Williams.

The Steve Hunter-led squad, founded in 1995, first competed in the Formula Renault Eurocup and has recently been a title-fighting mainstay in British Formula 4 after several years spent racing in Ginettas.

Towards the end of 2018 it announced its intentions to move into BRDC British F3 last year, but did not appear on the 2019 grid. It’s now to set to race in the series on a part-time basis with Williams, who raced for the team in British F4 last year.

“I am pleased to announce that I have signed once again with JHR Developemnts for the 2020 race season in BRDC British F3,” said Williams.

“I am really excited to be teaming up with Steven and the team again for 2020 and looking forward to continuing our success from British F4 last season.”

Williams finished seventh in the British F4 points last year, winning three races along the way, and raced in BRSCC National Formula Ford 1600 the year before with Don Hardman Racing.

“I will be doing extensive testing of the JHR F3 car as well as some limited 2020 race events as my budget will allow. I am excited to be back in the United Kingdom and I would like to thank all of my partners, supporters and fans for this opportunity.”

The British F3 season starts at Oulton Park on August 1/2, and will run over seven rounds.

Also linked to a race seat with JHR in British F3 is 19-year-old Max Marzorati, who has tested on multiple occassions with the team and also raced for it in the championship’s official Esports series.

The former Renault Clio Cup Junior racer also contested BRSCC National FF1600 in 2018, and finished 11th in last year’s FFord Festival.
